Beverage canning line for carbonated and hot fill drinks
Sociedad Cooperativa Trabajadores de Pascual chooses CFT
At CFT, our mission is to transform our customers’ challenges into technological achievements. In this project, we accomplished this through an advanced beverage canning line for carbonated and hot fill drinks, further strengthening our partnership with Sociedad Cooperativa Trabajadores de Pascual, a true symbol of the Mexican beverage industry.
Founded between the late 1930s and early 1940s by Rafael Víctor Jiménez Zamudio, Pascual has followed an extraordinary path: from its first popsicles to the launch of the famous Pato Pascual brand (“Fruta en tu refresco”) and the iconic Boing!, a non-carbonated fruit beverage that made history.
Following a historic workers’ movement that began in 1982, the company became a 100% Mexican cooperative in 1985 — a successful model that has endured for more than 41 years. Today, as an independent brand managing its entire production internally, Pascual continues to choose excellence for its production facilities.
The challenge: compact beverage canning line for high-efficiency production
Although Pascual collaborates with other leading suppliers for glass and carton packaging, when it came to its strategic entry into the can market, the company chose CFT. The project, completed in October 2024, originated from intensive scouting and joint development work.
The main challenge was not only technological, but also logistical: our engineering team worked to integrate a high-performance beverage canning line into an extremely saturated and compact area, optimizing the layout across multiple levels to guarantee efficiency despite the limited space available.
Master C-Tech and Seamer 3000: one monoblock, two production worlds
For this project, we have established ourselves as a unique technology partner, offering a turnkey beverage canning line designed to ensure maximum operational efficiency. The line includes a carbonation and mixing system, the CFT 101 top depalletizer, the complete conveying and automation system, can washing, as well as control and coding systems.
This total integration enabled Pascual to rely on a single partner, significantly simplifying project management and ensuring perfect synchronization between all stages of the line, from the initial depalletizer to the final packaging process.
At the heart of the supply is the monoblock composed of the Master C-Tech and seamer 3000, a hybrid beverage filling solution designed to handle products with opposite requirements:
- Carbonated Beverages (Cold Fill): Such as the famous Mexicola, processed under isobaric conditions with a capacity of 27,000 cans/hour.
- Still Beverages (Hot Fill): Such as Boing! juices and energy drinks, gravity-filled at controlled temperatures, reaching 18,000 cans/hour.
The CFT Master C-Tech filler with HF (Hot Fill) option is a hybrid flowmeter beverage filling machine capable of managing both carbonated products under isobaric conditions and still hot fill beverages with maximum precision. One platform, two operating modes, endless possibilities.
During isobaric filling, the machine performs a complete cycle including can pressurization, gas flushing, filling, and final degassing to ensure product stability before seaming. In hot filling, on the other hand, the process is gravity-based and requires extremely precise thermal control: the product temperature must remain constantly within a ±1°C range compared to the target defined by the food technologist.
The integration of the filler and seamer 3000 into a single block drastically reduces footprint and product exposure to air, ensuring superior packaging quality while minimizing contamination risks. In addition, the system complies with the highest hygiene standards, with automatic CIP cleaning cycles specifically designed to eliminate all fruit pulp residues.
The customer’s voice: interview with Miguel Perez García
To further explore the success of this project, we interviewed Miguel Pérez García, Director of Production and Processes at Pascual. His words confirm the value of a relationship built on long-standing trust and the reliability of our beverage processing and packaging technologies.
When asked why Pascual chose CFT once again, Pérez García stated:
“We already had the experience of two CFT machines that operated with high efficiency for 31 and 32 years respectively. With these references, and because of the guarantee, quality, service, and reliability, we decided to continue with this brand, investing in its new technologies.”
The Director described the collaboration with the CFT team as a “constructive experience, full of learning and teamwork,” emphasizing our ability to adapt our solutions to the specific needs of the customer. Currently, the beverage canning line is operating with excellent performance, having successfully overcome the initial CO₂ stabilization challenges thanks to a prompt software optimization intervention.
A look at the future of the Mexican market
The success of this project is part of an extremely dynamic global context. The beverage processing machinery market is expected to reach USD 103.55 billion by 2032, with growth driven mainly by fully automated solutions, which today account for approximately 45% of the sector. In this scenario, efficiency and sustainability have become strategic priorities for 75% of companies, which are increasingly investing in technologies capable of reducing consumption and waste.
As confirmed by Miguel Pérez García, Pascual will continue to evaluate CFT alternatives for future projects, strengthened by the current references and the demonstrated technological excellence. For us, being the “Beverage Technology Partner” of such a historic company means not only supplying machinery but building the future of the beverage industry in Mexico together — one innovation at a time.
