Giubileo²: the first extractor with adaptive adjustment
Giubileo is a cold extraction and/or hot refining unit designed for fruit with or without stones and tomato, with a capacity of up to 120 tonnes per hour. This is a historic CFT technology, well established and recognized worldwide.
With Giubileo², we take this technology to a new level, introducing a patented evolution that replaces fixed mechanical adjustment with an automatic, adaptive adjustment system. The operating logic is managed by a dedicated application on MENTIS, the computer installed on all our machines, which processes operating data in real time. Paddle angle and rotor speed are adjusted automatically and continuously, based on waste and other operating variables, without stopping the machine or interrupting production.
From fixed adjustment to adaptive adjustment
Traditionally, the paddle angle is adjusted mechanically and remains fixed during operation. With Giubileo2, paddle angle and rotor speed are adjusted automatically and continuously.
Until now, changing the paddle angle required you to:
- stop the machine;
- wait for it to cool down;
- manually change their position;
- restart the system and resume production.
With Giubileo2 changes everything: the system itself acts on the machine’s behavior, with no machine downtime and no manual mechanical adjustments.
How it works: measure and adapt
It works in two steps, coordinated by an application on Mentis.
- Measure. The system continuously detects the incoming flow rate, the weight of the waste and the process temperatures. The algorithm can also use laboratory data on the Bostwick value of the finished product, when available, as an additional parameter to optimize machine operation.
- Adapt. The control algorithm adjusts paddle angle and rotor speed according to the actual condition of the product, aiming for the best possible extraction yield compatible with the desired quality. Through the HMI panel, the operator can set the targets the algorithm must achieve.
The result is a more flexible line, easier to manage and able to adapt quickly to changes in flow rate, balancing extraction yield and the desired characteristics of the finished product.

What to expect
On large production volumes, even a seemingly small variation makes a difference. With Giubileo2 extraction yield can increase by up to +2.0%: +0.6–1.0% on tomato and +1–2% on fruit (estimates from business case). Every day, this translates into a significant amount of additional recovered product, with a direct impact on the plant’s economic efficiency.
In addition to the yield benefits, there are other advantages:
- less heating, and therefore less thermal stress on the product;
- lower energy consumption: at a reduced flow rate, the same yield is achieved at a lower speed;
- product quality and consistency under control: when laboratory data on the final Bostwick value is available, the system can take it into account when optimizing the process.
The improvement actually achievable depends on the raw material, process conditions and plant configuration.
Hygiene designed down to the details
The renewal of Giubileo is not limited to machine control but also concerns hygiene.
The new configuration also offers the option of a full hygienic design: a frame designed to make cleaning easier, rotating spray balls for effective sanitization (also with automatic valves and hot water), hygienic fasteners and mirror-polished product-contact surfaces.
